CNHA 2010 Canyon Country Photo Contest Terms & Conditions
The contest is open to everyone, regardless of age, except for the following: Employees of Canyonlands Natural History Association, the National Park Service (NPS), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the USDA Forest Service (USFS), contest judges, and their immediate families. Contestants under the age of 18 must have their parent(s) or guardian(s) consent.
Only one photo submission per person. Contestants who submit more than one photo will be disqualified. Photos must of a landscape on public lands in SE Utah or in Canyon of the Ancients National Monument and may not have people, pets or vehicles in the photo. The location of the photo must be supplied with the photo and must be correctly identified. Do not go off trail to take your picture.
Individual photographers, both amateur and professional, may submit a maximum of one photo. Photos must be submitted as digital images. No prints or slides will be accepted. Photo must be color, in JPG format, with high resolution (minimum 300 dpi, maximum 600 dpi) with a maximum file size of 10MB. Lower resolution photos may be submitted, but a high resolution photo must be available upon request.
Only original photographs taken by you will be accepted. CNHA reserves the right to disqualify any entry if it finds at its sole discretion that any of the contest rules have been violated. Decisions of CNHA shall be final and binding.
Judging and prizes
Photos will be judged by a panel chosen by CNHA. Winners will be notified by email by October 29th, 2010.
The winning photo and photographer's name will be published in the 2013 Canyon Country calendar, and will be displayed on the CNHA website, e-newsletter and Facebook page. The winner will also receive a copy of the 2013 calendar. An Honorable Mention will also be awarded and the photographer will receive a copy of Photographing the Southwest (Vol 1) by Laurent Martres.
Entries must be uploaded to the CNHA website between 8 am (MDT), Monday, September 27th and 5pm (MDT), Friday, October 1, 2010. A link to the photo upload page will be on the CNHA home page and it will be active only during these dates.
By uploading a photo for the contest, you grant CNHA the rights to future use of the image including, but not limited to, the CNHA web site, e-newsletter and Facebook page. Should CNHA wish to use any photograph in a printed publication other than the 2013 Canyon Country Calendar, terms for use will be negotiated at that time.
