Photo Contest

2013 CANYON COUNTRY PHOTO CONTEST - Begins TODAY! Upload your entry  using the form below.

Enter now through Nov. 30th! You've got lots of time to look through your photos or visit Canyon Country to get your best shot!

The theme this year is Wind, Water & Weather. Your photo could win if it captures the drama and beauty of the play of light, shadow or storm on southeastern Utah’s public lands (or Canyon of the Ancients National Monument). Landscapes only, no vehicles or people. Please note that Zion, Bryce and Capitol Reef National Parks are not in SE Utah, nor is the Grand Staircase-Escalante area, Glen Canyon, or the Lake Powell area.

Contest Terms and Conditions

Participation
The contest is open to everyone, regardless of age, except for the following: employees of Canyonlands Natural History Association, the National Park Service (NPS), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the USDA Forest Service (USFS), contest judges, and their immediate families. Contestants under the age of 18 must have their parent(s) or guardian(s) consent.

Photo requirements
Individual photographers, both amateur and professional, may submit a maximum of one photo. Contestants who submit more than one photo will be disqualified. Photos must be of a landscape on public lands in SE Utah or in Canyons of the Ancients National Monument and may not have people, pets or vehicles in the photo. The location of the photo must be supplied with the photo and must be correctly identified. Please do not go off trail to take your picture. Over Photoshopped photos or photos with unnatural colors may be disqualified.

 Photos must be submitted as digital images. No prints or slides will be accepted. Photo must be color, in JPG format, with high resolution (minimum 300 dpi, maximum 600 dpi) with a maximum file size of 10MB. Lower resolution photos may be submitted, but a high resolution photo must be available upon request.

Only original photographs taken by you will be accepted. CNHA reserves the right to disqualify any entry if it finds at its sole discretion that any of the contest rules have been violated. Decisions of CNHA shall be final and binding.

Judging and prizes
Photos will be judged by a panel chosen by CNHA. Winners will be notified by email. The winner will receive a $100 prize.  The runner-up will receive a prize of $50.  Winning photos will be displayed on the CNHA website, e-newsletter and Facebook page.

Terms of Use
By uploading a photo for the contest, you grant CNHA the rights to future use of the image including, but not limited to, the CNHA web site, e-newsletter and Facebook page. Should CNHA wish to use any photograph in a printed publication, terms for use will be negotiated at that time.

CNHA is not responsible for computer system, hardware, software, or program malfunctions or other errors, failures, or delayed computer transactions or network connections that are human or technical in nature.
