Jody Patterson and "friends"

If archaeologists could have one superpower, it would be X-Ray vision. Sometimes, seemingly small, uninteresting sites turn out to be rich archaeological time capsules that shed new information about an area's prehistoric peoples and their material culture. The excavation of a small Formative Period (AD 500 - AD 1300) site in Spanish Valley falls into this category of unexpected discovery. This presentation will examine the initial results of the excavation and explore the cultural affiliation of the site with respect to the Fremont and Ancestral Puebloan peoples.
